Myrto Daskaloudi

Myrto is a local dancer, herbalist and astrologer raised and currently living in Columbia County / Mahican territory. Myrto studied herbalism at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism and on the island of Lefkada, Greece with her teacher, Aris Kokotsis. She is available for one-on-one consultations for personalized herbal medicines, all of which are hand made with locally grown and wild crafted herbs. 

Myrto also brings her ancestral dance as an offering to Yaad, providing space for the community to come learn the history, magic and movements of Tsiftiteli. Tsiftiteli is a folkloric, social, vintage and modern style of bellydance found in Greece and Turkey. Blooming from the lands of Cappadocia, the greater Anatolia, Greece and Cyprus, Tsiftiteli is a dance woven through song stories, movements inspired by the ocean and the fire in the hearts of the people of these places. Tsifitteli is expressive, uplifting and healing for the spine, heart and sacral center.
